Multiorgan dysfunction syndrome (MODs) is a frequently encountered complication in patients who are admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with severe sepsis. Infrequently the same clinical syndrome can be caused by another pathophysiologic mechanism. We present a patient with possible Drug Rash, Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS). This rare syndrome is caused by an allergic reaction to drugs. Treatment consists of discontinuation of the drug and supportive treatment. Early recognition of DREss is vital to enable initiation of treatment at an early stage.
